This is our second and final sermon in our SEX TALK series for this February. This message is all about how super important gender roles are to God and in His Word. God created us in specific gender with specific roles to each gender. God did this because He was reflecting Himself (different roles within the Trinity), and He’s reflecting His Gospel. Through this message, we want to turn-out biblical BEASTS (dudes) and BEAUTIES (ladies) who want to glorify Jesus through their gender. Godly guys need to be MENNN, and godly girls need to be LAIDIESSS. So feel free to check out anything on here, and use it for your ministry or life.

“Have your read The Shack yet?” That is a question running rampant in both Christian and non-Christian circles today. The Shack is a book written to help people understand one of the deepest doctrines of all Scripture: the Trinity. With millions reading this book, we are seeing a begging and pleading from people to know God better. Continue reading
One question I love to get students thinking about is “What kind of spouse do you want to live with for the rest of your life?” I want them to go ahead and think of those real important qualities that truly matter as that will affect both who and how they date. If you’re a student reading this, go ahead and do that now… In the same way, God has qualities and characteristics. They are what we call His attributes. Who do you imagine God to be? Do you know what God is REALLY like? God wants us to know Him! Continue reading
Right behind our church stands a huge Hindu Temple. Can you believe it? In Alabama “the Bible belt” of all places! If you’re not aware, Hindus believe in many gods: polytheism. If you’re a monotheist like me, then you think they are nuts, too. But honestly, our American culture has gone so “postmodern” and there is no belief in absolute truth anymore. So here’s what I’m thinking…if postmodern people try to tell us that their belief is true for them and our belief is true for us, then that means both their God is real and our God is real. And if that’s true, then why can’t they just be honest and admit that what they are really saying is either: “all this God stuff ain’t really true” or “there is really more than one God.” In other words, postmodernism (tolerance) really is no better than polytheism (Hinduism). But Scripture teaches monotheism: there is only one God who exists, and He exists in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Continue reading
Every Tuesday morning I go to a high school for a First Priority meeting. First Priority is kind of like FCA. It is a Bible study, worship session, time of prayer, etc for students at their high school. When I walked into the high school this morning, I quickly noticed that today would be a very different day for the students. Apparently, they coined today as “opposite sex day” as a special dress-up day to conjure up school spirit for their Homecoming week. So literally, many of the guys in the school were wearing skirts, dresses, high-heels, blouses, jewelry, and even make-up. To be honest, it was very hard to look at some of them. Many of the girls were wearing guys clothes, but it just wasn’t as appauling. I do have to be honest and say that I’m very proud of my students who did not get involved in this little “special occasion.” Continue reading
