This is the last sermon in our “Best Book Ever” series. Booooo! So I wanted to conclude it as powerfully as possible…and the INFALLIBILITY of Scripture was perfect for that! Infallibility does not mean “no fallacies” or no mistakes. Rather, infallibility means that Scripture will not fail to accomplish what God promises it will accomplish. So this is talking about the power of Scripture, the ability of God’s Word to change our lives, etc. This is huge because the ultimate purpose of Scripture is not merely to be read or preached, but we read and preach the Scriptures so that we are equipped to live our lives powerfully with, through, and for Jesus. So here you go, one last sermon on Best Book Ever, all about the Infallibility of Scripture in the lives of students.

Last night was a “fall break” night for most of the school’s in our area. I’m so encouraged that we have a student ministry filled with students who still come to worship Jesus and hear from His Word even on nights that many of their friends are gone on vacation or hanging out at home. Satan may want us to take a Wednesday off…but Jesus deserves our worship every Wednesday!

Our goal last night was to train, equip, and prepare our students to defend the INERRANCY (absolute truthfulness) of Scripture now and when the heat gets turned up in college. The Bible is inerrant (without errors) because it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), Jesus said the His Word is Truth (John 17:17), and the Scriptures were written by God (2 Peter 1:20-21). So we at CBSM unashamedly hold to, love, and boldly live the full inerrancy of God’s Word. This sermon explains what inerrancy is, explores the Word for where God claims inerrancy, and takes a look at problem passages where people claim mistakes in the Bible. Check it out! Dang…last night…wow! It was one of those nights where we didn’t exactly put our best foot forward when it came to media or creativity. Many things were going wrong (we blame the demons) before the service. But once the service hit…God totally took control! The Holy Spirit moved us out of the way. Jesus said, “Step aside.” And God just did His thing…and you know how He do! We opened up with the See You At the Pole 2010 promo video. Then we had our students pray for about 15 minutes for their schools, for this country, and for the nations. We always pray so that Jesus will be exalted, trusted, believed in, worshiped, and glorified in all things, in all people, and in all places. We then experience just some crazy Christ-centered worship with our band. God totally took over the sermon and spoke to the students like never before. And we ended the night with some hard-hitting worship songs about the greatness of our God in Christ, and how we need to live this life from the inside-out! I wish you could have heard the conversations from all of the students who came up just to say what God had been doing in their lives. God is just doing His thing and rolling just how He likes it. We thank Him and praise Him for it! Continue reading
