All Out – 3 – Emotion – Exodus 19 (curriculum)

Exodus 19 helps us worship God with deep emotion. Because of their sin, Israel was not allowed to even approach God. Because of our Savior, God invites us to approach Him! Exodus 19 coupled with Hebrews 12 is one of the most powerful teachings on worship throughout all Scripture!

This sermon kicks off our brand spanking new serious called ALL OUT which is all about worship through the last half of the book of Exodus. This story is incredible as it tells how the Israelites broke out into an immediate, natural, and spontaneous worship service right after they passed through the Red Sea. They couldn’t help but sing and worship God for what He had just done in their lives! In the same way, believers are natural singers. For those who have experienced the saving grace of God, we naturally sing His praises. We can’t help it! This message helped our student ministry worship Jesus more emotionally, passionately, and loudly in incredible ways!

Straight Outta Egypt: The Movement (Exodus 1)

Straight Outta Egypt is our brand-spanking new series through the first half of the book of Exodus. In Exodus 1, we see that God has started and will always be faithful to His MOVEMENT. Ministries are where students come, sing, sit, listen, learn, and leave. MOVEMENTS are when students leave they also share the Gospel, make disciples, and live on mission. We are not called to simply raise up students, but also send them out equipped to make disciples just as Jesus commissioned us to do.

The CBSM Praise Band

I could not be more thankful for our student-led CBSM praise band and media team. Our Capshaw media guru, Jeremy Coburn, created this video, so I just had to show them off. Jackson Beasley does an incredible job leading. These students love Jesus, serve humbly, and they’re incredibly talented. Enjoy this acoustic song “You Never Let Go.”

Capshaw’s Missions Overview Service: this Wednesday

CBSM will join Capshaw this Wednesday night for our first annual Missions Overview service. In this special service, you will hear many teen testimonies from our summer mission trips to Gulf Shores (Beach Camp), San Diego (Advance Trip), and Jamaica (Graduate Trip). These will be both video and live testimonies from some of our teens. On top of the teen testimonies, you’ll also hear from our college students who went to Chicago, and some of our adults who went on various other mission trips this year. It all cranks up at 6:30pm in our main Capshaw auditorium. We’ll see you there!
Revelation 12:11, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

CBSM 2011 SMT’s (Student Ministry Teams)

Every fall and spring we reset our SMTs by allowing our teens to pick new ones. We want to give every student an opportunity to use their spiritual gifts, serve Jesus, serve the church, and serve the community by putting them on an SMT that is perfect for them. This year, we have 28 SMT’s total for our high schoolers and middle schoolers. I also go over what spiritual gifts are, how to discover which gifts God has given you, and how to use your giftedness for Jesus’ glory in His church. So here are the SMT breakdowns and the quick lesson on spiritual giftedness.
