There are some seriously crazy miracles that happens in the book of Acts! I’m talking about an apostles shadow healing people, a handkerchief of an apostle being passed around to heal people, apostles raising people from the dead, casting demons out people, people dying on the spot for specific sin, and other awesome stuff. These miracles are all about Jesus keeping His promise to build the church through the power of the Holy Spirit through the book of Acts. We’re seeing right before our very eyes the power of Jesus through His apostles, pastors, and churches to show the glory of the gospel going forward. But should we expect those same miracles to happen today? Are they supposed to be normal? Can God still do them? Check it all out here!

This message is our grand finale of our series “Following Jesus: Through the Gospels.” The main message: because Jesus rose from the dead, its party time! The resurrection is the victory of our faith. We not only wanted to teach the truth of the resurrection, but also communicate the feel of the resurrection. This sermon will hopefully answer many questions for you concerning the resurrection. Did it really have to happen for our salvation? What are some proofs that Jesus really raised from the dead? What does the resurrection mean for my faith? How should the resurrection change the way I live?

We had severe storm warnings on this Wednesday night, so we actually had to cancel services for that night. I had thought through and studied up on this sermon so much, that I couldn’t just not preach it! We have got to get back to “Following Jesus” next week. So I decided just to preach this passage to CBSM from my recliner. I think this passage gives so much meaning to our very lives. It answers so many questions like: Was Jesus really resurrected from the dead? Is Jesus remaining human forever? What does Jesus’ resurrection mean for our lives today? How can we live more and more for eternity? What will our eternal bodies be like? What will we do for all of eternity? Will we be human beings forever? And what does all of this have to do with our lives in the hear and now? Feel free to check it all out!

Part 2 – “Know Your Role: Gender Roles, Relationships, and the Gospel”

Whoa, I had no idea this blog article would get so , many hits!  In fact, I traced many of the hits coming from a website on “transgender resources.”  Apparently, this pro-transgender site literally took a paragraph of my previous article and posted it to their site.  I got several hits from that site!  There seemed to be a response on that site pointed toward me which read “people won’t remember what you said, people won’t remember what you’ve done…but people will remember how you made them feel.”  Just to respond to that person…if in any way I made you feel less of a person or less than loved, I truly apologize!  I have no authority whatsoever to deem the value or worth of a person nor who should or who should not be loved.  But, if my comments made you feel a little convicted, guilty, or shameful of your lifestyle, I cannot apologize for that because those feelings haven’t come from me…but from the Holy Spirit (John 16:8-11).

In fact, please know that I myself often feel convicted, guilty, and shameful.  Continue reading

Framework #07 – Doctrine of Jesus Christ – His Resurrection

Free files for youth pastors:
Imagine you’re a missionary sharing the gospel with a village who has never heard about Jesus. You begin with creation, move through the sinful fall of man, and continue to the gospel of Christ. Just as you have finished teaching them about the death of Jesus that paid the penalty for their sin, a villager stands up, draws back his bow, and pierces an arrow through your heart, which leaves you dead on the ground. If this village never sees a Bible or hears the gospel again, can they be saved without knowing that Jesus rose from the dead? Hmmmm? Continue reading
