The CBSM Update: This Week’s News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: Praise God that this last Wednesday was packed-out (158 teens) with some powerful worship (led by to CBSM student-brothers, Lawson and Jackson Beasely) and a personal challenge to find our satisfaction in Jesus alone (from the book of Ecclesiastes). You can go to our blog or iTunes podcast to listen to the sermon.

This Wednesday night, we’re going to celebrate Christmas by worshipping Jesus for His birth! One way we’re celebrating is to wear the ugliest Christmas sweater that you can find! Our band is going to lead us in worship through a style of Christmas carols that you’ve never heard before. And I will be preaching on if Jesus’ mother Mary was really a virgin or not “Was Mary Naughty or Nice?” You definitely need to plan to come and bring tons of friends with you for this monumental night at CBSM!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: Two Wednesdays ago now we had one of our biggest Wednesday nights ever! God used our students to bring in 166 total teens to rock it out for our CBSM Iron Bowl. Alabama did win for the first time in CBSM Iron Bowl history. We also finished up the Proverbs with taking a look at several of the NAMES God calls out in Scripture to deal with. Awesome night!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to take a one-stop look at the entire book of Ecclesiastes in a sermon called “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” I already can’t wait to see how God is going to use our students to reach many of their friends to bring in, and I can’t wait to watch how God is going to change the lives of many students who are searching for satisfaction in other places than Jesus Christ.

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: We had one of our strongest nights ever last Wednesday. If you weren’t there, I wish you could have heard the students pour out their hearts to Jesus while singing “From the Inside Out” and “Our God Reigns” after hearing a message on Proverbs 10-20. The message was explaining why Proverbs is written in such a random way…because life is so incredibly random…and we have to be on our toes and think fast to live for Jesus on a moment by moment basis. Get this…God used our students to bring in 154 teenagers to worship Jesus. Ridiculous!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to have our “CBSM IRON BOWL 3”! All students, come in wearing your favorite college’s colors. We’ll put BAMA on one side and AUBURN on the other. If you’re for another college team, then you’ll try to get persuaded to one side or the other. We’ll have some crazy Bama vs. Auburn games, and then of course we’ll finish up our series through the book of Proverbs “GET SMART” with a sermon on all the different names in Proverbs, how to identify which one you are, and how to become more wise in life like and for Jesus. Keep praying for, texting, facebooking, and inviting every friend you can think of to join us on the life-changing Wednesday nights of worship and the Word!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Annoucements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Praise God last weekend we had a strong start to our new series in the book of Proverbs called “GET SMART.” The sermon was all about what biblical wisdom is, why we need God’s wisdom, how to start to get it, and how to live in it for Jesus! God used our students to bring in 150 teenagers to worship Christ. It was such an awesome night!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to continue our new series through the book of Proverbs “GET SMART” with a sermon on how RANDOM life is and how Proverbs can help us be prepared to respond Christ-like to any situation. Keep praying for, texting, facebooking, and inviting every friend you can think of to join us on the life-changing Wednesday nights of worship and the Word!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Praise God as this last weekend of DNOW was a huge success! God used Jed in a huge way to teach our students how to live in today’s culture for the glory of Christ! God used the band in a huge way for our worship of Christ! God used our mission projects in a huge way to bless others for the name of Christ! And God used our small groups in a huge way for our students to grow closer together in Christ!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to kick-off a brand new series on the book of Proverbs called “GET SMART.” This series will be all about how to get, grow in, and use godly wisdom in our daily lives to look more like Jesus. Students, be praying, inviting, and bringing your friends to the encounter we get with God every Wednesday!

CBSM Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Make sure to check out our blog at http://www.storylineframework.com for super important info for our DNOW Weekend if you are attending with us.

Last Wednesday we finished up the preaching part of our series on the doctrine of Scripture called “BEST BOOK EVER” with a sermon on “INFALLIBILITY: Will it really change my life?” The gist we were getting it as that the Scriptures are all powerful because Jesus is all powerful. He is the manifestation of God’s powerful voice in Psalm 29, He’s powerful to heal the sick, He’s powerful to raise the dead, He’s been given all authority by His Father, and His Word is as powerful as a two-edged sword that pierces our hearts. So INFALLIBILITY means that Scripture is so powerful that God will not fail to do what He promises He will do in and through His Word for the glory of His Son!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to be concluding our awesome series “BEST BOOK EVER” with a time of Question and Answer on the series. So students will be given instructions on how to text in their questions anonymously, and anything goes! We want students to feel comfortable enough to ask whatever they want, and we’ll answer as many questions as they want. I can’t wait to make this happen! Yall invite and bring as many friends as possible, and we’ll answer as many questions as we can from everyone!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:
Last Wednesday we continued our new series we’re calling “Best Book Ever” with a challenging question “Is it really all I need to read?” This is called the “Doctrine of SUFFICIENCY” which is all about whether or not the Bible tells us everything we need for our lives of godliness in worship of Jesus. We studied that God’s word is ENOUGH for everything that we need to live for Jesus (2 Peter 1:3-4) because every Word of Scripture is from God and teaches everything we need to believe, everything we need to know about sin, everything we need to know about correcting our sin, and everything we need to know about living for Jesus (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Yes, the Bible is ALL WE NEED to read for a life following Jesus!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to be continuing our awesome series “BEST BOOK EVER” with a sermon on “Can it really change my life?” This is specifically talking about the INFALLIBILITY of all Scripture. So, make sure to come this Wednesday night for a crunk time of worship, and work hard to invite all your unsaved/unchurched friends…especially those who don’t believe, doubt, question, have concerns, criticize, or just aren’t sure about the Bible being God’s Word.

CBSM Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:
Last Wednesday we continued our new series we’re calling “Best Book Ever” with a challenging question “Is it really all true?” This is called the “doctrine of Inerancy” which is all about whether or not the Bible is fully true and perfect with no errors. We studied that it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), that the Word is all about Jesus and He is The Truth (John 1:1 and John 14:6), and that Jesus said God’s Word is Truth (John 17:17). So therefore, God teaches us that His Word is perfect truth, fully true, absolute truth, and without any errors or mistakes. We can fully trust His Word!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to be continuing our awesome series “BEST BOOK EVER” with a sermon on “Is it really all I need to read?” This is specifically talking about the SUFFICIENCY of all Scripture. So, make sure to come this Wednesday night for a crunk time of worship, and work hard to invite all your unsaved/unchurched friends…especially those who don’t believe, doubt, question, have concerns, criticize, or just aren’t sure about the Bible being God’s Word.

Weekly Announcements at CBSM

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:
Last Wednesday we continued our new series we’re calling “Best Book Ever” with a challenging question “Who really wrote it all?” It was so AMAZING to see how God used His Word in all of our lives as we studied it for almost an hour and fifteen minutes! We looked at what it meant that God’s Word is inspired, what it does not mean, how God’s Word was written by Him and His authors, and what difference that makes for our lives.

This Wednesday night, we’re going to be continuing our awesome series “BEST BOOK EVER” with a sermon on “Is it really all fully true?” This is specifically talking about the INERRANCY of all Scripture. So, make sure to come this Wednesday night for a crunk time of worship, and work hard to invite all your unsaved/unchurched friends…especially those who don’t believe, doubt, question, have concerns, criticize, or just aren’t sure about the Bible being God’s Word.
