CBSM, here’s your reminder of our One Day Food Drive tomorrow: Sunday, May 5th. We are running this Food Drive for our church’s mission trip to KY. The part of Ky they are going to does not have much food. Many are starving or malnourished. Also, that area of KY is very malnourished spiritually. They need to hear the gospel. Jesus loved to feed people and then share the gospel with them. Think about Him feeding the 5000, feeding the 4000, etc. He showed them that He is where they will be taken care of eternally! Capshaw’s Missions Overview Service: this Wednesday
CBSM will join Capshaw this Wednesday night for our first annual Missions Overview service. In this special service, you will hear many teen testimonies from our summer mission trips to Gulf Shores (Beach Camp), San Diego (Advance Trip), and Jamaica (Graduate Trip). These will be both video and live testimonies from some of our teens. On top of the teen testimonies, you’ll also hear from our college students who went to Chicago, and some of our adults who went on various other mission trips this year. It all cranks up at 6:30pm in our main Capshaw auditorium. We’ll see you there!
Revelation 12:11, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Jody Fox – Church Planting and Missions (mp3)
Our church had its 2nd annual “Global Impact Celebration” Missions Conference. It was a 5 day conference featuring around 30 missionaries from all over America and from all around the world. The missionaries that CBSM had adopted for the week were my personal friends, Jody and Sarah Fox. They are missionaries to one of the poorest countries in Africa. They have literally just sold all of their belongings, and letting their 3 little girls stay with their grandparents for 2 weeks…since they may not see their grandparents for the next few years. In this mp3, Jody shares with us his biblical passion for church planting and missions, explains it, and challenges us all to play a part in this gospel-redemption plan of God for the glory of Christ among the nations.

Where God and Satan Agree – 2 Cor 3-4 (outline)
Where God and Satan Agree – 2 Cor 3-4 (small groups)
This was our final CBSM worship service of 2010, which is why God chose for us to study this passage and challenge us in this special way. Could you imagine God and Satan agreeing on anything? They actually do! They agree on the key to all of life. God is sovereignly working towards it, and Satan is trying to stop him from it. So then the question is…what is the key to all of life? Listen and find out!

This is our last sermon through the MOTI (Man On The Island) series. We go back over if Moti really is IGNORANT of God’s existence, if Moti really is INNOCENT of sin, and if Moti really is IMPORTANT to God and to us. We really laid our cards on the table with this one…answering if Moti dies tomorrow…would he go to heaven or hell? Some people may not like our answer…but that doesn’t matter! What matters is…how God answers this question in Scripture! In this message, we had 255 teenagers present since it was our BACK 2 SCHOOL BASH event night. At least 7 teenagers received Christ and were saved on this night. It was just simply a night that God used to rock our lives and our student ministry. I want to thank our students for doing such an amazing job of being missionaries and bringing their friends. I want to thank all of our adult leaders who serve so well and make everything run smoothly. I want to thank Dr. Russell Moore for this amazing sermon that he preached that we could piggy-back off of and turn into a student ministry series. And lastly I want to thank JESUS for coming to us, revealing Himself to us through the preaching of the gospel of others, that we could be saved and enjoy eternity with Him! Continue reading

Missions is not an option, it is a command. Missions is not just a trip, it is a battle plan. Missions is not just for the trained and specialized, it is for every Christian. Missions is not just for the called to full-time, it is for every Christian to go at least part-time. Hear from Psalm 117, the shortest chapter in the Psalms and the shortest chapter in all the Bible, about the importance of understanding your call to missions!
cbsm and the challenge of church planting
Over our church’s mission conference called “GIC: Global Impact Celebration”, CBSM had in guest speaker, Chuck Rheam, who is an awesome church planter in San Diego, CA. As our students are challenged to be involved in missions, we don’t want them to forget the incredible missions opportunities going on all over our nation: church planting. Listen to Pastor Chuck for a strong challenge to be involved in church planting in some way, shape, form, or fashion. And for an extra added bonus, something we never get to do, our CBSM praise band plays too songs at the end of the mp3…acoustic style.
