Disciple Making Booklet for Student Ministry

Disciple Making Strategy in Liberty Students (slides).001

5 years ago, God put a passion on my heart to get students involved deeper in discipleship. Today, God has matured that passion to see students become disciple makers.

If our goal for students after graduate is for them to attend the church or be discipled, those goals are too short-sighted. Jesus’ goal for His disciples (who were probably teenagers) were to be disciple makers. Our goal for our students should be the same.

In the past 5 years I’ve read many books, had countless conversations, discipled many students, and have watched students make more disciples. I have a long way to grow in my understanding of disciple making, but I wanted to pass along this resource to Student Pastors, Leaders, Ministries, Parents, and even students for those longing to see Jesus’ Great Commission come about in and through the lives of our students.

“What Is My WHY?” (by Christian Romano)

christianromanoChristian Romano is Liberty Students first year-long Minister in Residence. Even though Christian is still in college and working at Chickfila on the weekends, he is making a tremendous impact on our student ministry team and in our middle school ministry. I’m honored to post his article to my blog.

Have you ever asked yourself why you are currently doing all the things in your life right now? Whether it is going to school, working, or hanging out with a certain group of people. Well these were and sometimes are questions that I ask myself. My name is Christian Romano and I am 21 years old living in Hampton Roads VA. I have four brothers and two wonderful parents. Currently I work at my Church as a Minister in Residence which is a pastor in training and I love my job. I am also a full time student and I know that this is the season of life that I am in right now but one question that I am constantly asking myself is why am I doing this right now? Why should I continue doing the same thing every week? The biggest thing that I have learned during this stage of life is what the “Why” is behind what I am doing. What I mean by this is what is the purpose or reason I am working two jobs, living in Hampton Roads and why am I in school.  Continue reading
