New CBSM Middle School and High School Ministries

I literally can barely believe this is happening! God has grown our student ministry to the point that we don’t have any other choice. We absolutely have to go to 2 ministries within CBSM. Our events, worship services, etc. have gotten too big to handle. So now, we are having to move to 2 ministries so that we can specialize in each age group. That’s right…its time for CBSM Middle School and High School Ministries. Oh, and by the way, we’re not dividing or splitting up these ministries. But we are multiplying into these two ministries. That’s key wording for this awesome move of God! Here’s how its going to breakdown.

Middle School (6th – 8th Grades):
Beginning August 7th: Small Groups at both 9:00am and 10:30am on Sunday mornings.
Beginning August 14th: Worship Service at 6:30-7:45pm on Sunday nights.
Beginning August 14th: SMT’s (Student Ministry Teams) at 6:30-7:45pm on Wednesday nights.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH: Sun, August 21st! 4 – 6pm: Tons of Inflatable Games, Food, Etc. 6:30 – 8:00pm: Epic Worship Service.

High School (9th – 12th Grades):
Beginning August 7th: Small Groups at both 9:00am and 10:30am on Sunday mornings.
Beginning August 14th: SMT’s (Student Ministry Teams) at 6:30-7:45 on Sunday nights.
Beginning August 17th: Worship Service at 6:30-8:00pm on Wednesday nights.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH: Wed, August 24th! 6-7:30pm: Epic Worship Service. 7:30-10pm: Bonfire, Food, Chillin with Friends.

So there you go. There’s our breakdown. We can’t wait to see everything that God is going to do in our lives, ministry, and church through this growth. Keep focused on Jesus through all this, reach the lost, invite the unchurched, and lets attack hell with the truth of the gospel!

CBSM Sermon Video: CBSM in 2011

Imagine 150ish teenagers getting together to go crazy in worshiping Jesus and then to get quiet in hearing from His Word. Our night together in Acts 2 was insane! At the start of the new year, I believed God was leading us to take a look at the start of His church in Acts 2, and then the start of our year as a student ministry in 2011. Listen in to see what we believe are God’s plans for CBSM in 2011. For more info and downloads, check out http://storylineframework.com/2011/01/06/cbsm-service-cbsm-in-2011-acts-236-47/

The CBSM Update: This Week’s News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: Praise God that this last Wednesday was packed-out (158 teens) with some powerful worship (led by to CBSM student-brothers, Lawson and Jackson Beasely) and a personal challenge to find our satisfaction in Jesus alone (from the book of Ecclesiastes). You can go to our blog or iTunes podcast to listen to the sermon.

This Wednesday night, we’re going to celebrate Christmas by worshipping Jesus for His birth! One way we’re celebrating is to wear the ugliest Christmas sweater that you can find! Our band is going to lead us in worship through a style of Christmas carols that you’ve never heard before. And I will be preaching on if Jesus’ mother Mary was really a virgin or not “Was Mary Naughty or Nice?” You definitely need to plan to come and bring tons of friends with you for this monumental night at CBSM!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: Two Wednesdays ago now we had one of our biggest Wednesday nights ever! God used our students to bring in 166 total teens to rock it out for our CBSM Iron Bowl. Alabama did win for the first time in CBSM Iron Bowl history. We also finished up the Proverbs with taking a look at several of the NAMES God calls out in Scripture to deal with. Awesome night!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to take a one-stop look at the entire book of Ecclesiastes in a sermon called “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” I already can’t wait to see how God is going to use our students to reach many of their friends to bring in, and I can’t wait to watch how God is going to change the lives of many students who are searching for satisfaction in other places than Jesus Christ.

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Announcements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Report on Last Wednesday: We had one of our strongest nights ever last Wednesday. If you weren’t there, I wish you could have heard the students pour out their hearts to Jesus while singing “From the Inside Out” and “Our God Reigns” after hearing a message on Proverbs 10-20. The message was explaining why Proverbs is written in such a random way…because life is so incredibly random…and we have to be on our toes and think fast to live for Jesus on a moment by moment basis. Get this…God used our students to bring in 154 teenagers to worship Jesus. Ridiculous!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to have our “CBSM IRON BOWL 3”! All students, come in wearing your favorite college’s colors. We’ll put BAMA on one side and AUBURN on the other. If you’re for another college team, then you’ll try to get persuaded to one side or the other. We’ll have some crazy Bama vs. Auburn games, and then of course we’ll finish up our series through the book of Proverbs “GET SMART” with a sermon on all the different names in Proverbs, how to identify which one you are, and how to become more wise in life like and for Jesus. Keep praying for, texting, facebooking, and inviting every friend you can think of to join us on the life-changing Wednesday nights of worship and the Word!

The CBSM Update: Weekly News and Annoucements

CBSM students, parents, and small group leaders:

Praise God last weekend we had a strong start to our new series in the book of Proverbs called “GET SMART.” The sermon was all about what biblical wisdom is, why we need God’s wisdom, how to start to get it, and how to live in it for Jesus! God used our students to bring in 150 teenagers to worship Christ. It was such an awesome night!

This Wednesday night, we’re going to continue our new series through the book of Proverbs “GET SMART” with a sermon on how RANDOM life is and how Proverbs can help us be prepared to respond Christ-like to any situation. Keep praying for, texting, facebooking, and inviting every friend you can think of to join us on the life-changing Wednesday nights of worship and the Word!
