This sermon kicked off our series through September on the doctrine of Jesus simply called “The Jesus Series.” This sermon was also our Parent Party where we invited all the parents of our students to join us for this Wednesday night of worship. On this night, we proved from Scripture that Jesus truly is God and what that means for our practical lives as parents, teenagers, etc.  Continue reading

CBSM EBook “Christocentrism: How Christ is the Center of All Life”

EBook: “Christocentrism: How Christ is the Center of All Life”

Click link for free download “Christocentrism: How Christ is the Center of All Life” (pdf)

Introducing…CBSM’s first EBook. It is written to be a very quick read in order to explain to teenagers, parents, youth pastors, small group leaders, and others…as to how Jesus is the center of all faith and life. That is the way God has designed it. To be the center means that Jesus is the focus, the theme, the goal, the aim, etc. Jesus is the center of the Bible, the Gospel, our motivation for righteousness, our spiritual growth, the church, and more. If you’re spiritual life seems unfocused, off-center, and sporadic…I promise you this quick read will re-center your sights onto Jesus Christ! You might think its small…so maybe we should call it an EBooklet. You’re probably right. But I pray this little book will be a huge blessing to your life in Christ.

CBSM Mini-Conference: Persecuted Church – on the Doctrine of Christ

Yes, we get this idea from Pastor David Platt and his church Brookhills where he preaches for nearly 6 HOURS on doctrine and theology. We’ve been a few times for that, and its amazing. Platt gets it from his missions experiences where foreign churches study God’s Word in secret (so they don’t get killed) for hours (so they can learn as much as possible). This is CBSM’s second attempt, and we’ve learned to put it during a school break so that students can stay out late with no school the next day.
The reason we want to continue Persecuted Church conferences is because we believe that students desire a deeper study of God’s Word, and that they want to be different from the world in the way they live their lives for Jesus. The theme of our Persecuted Church Conference this time is “The Doctrine of Christ.” We haven’t taken a specific look at the Doctrine of Christ for almost 3 years now. So its time we take a deep look at the person and worship of Jesus again. All teenagers from our area are invited.

Do you ever get tired of the same old, same old when it comes to youth curriculum?  I don’t know about you, but I get so frustrated with the low expectations writers and publishers have on teenagers.  Do they think teenagers aren’t studying British Literature, Calculus, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Grammar, Western Civilization, etc?  If these students are studying those tough courses in school, no wonder they are bored in church with the shallow and watered-down lessons, studies, and sermons we give them!  Continue reading
