SEX TALK Sermon Intro Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpFGSOS3GIE
This is our second and final sermon in our SEX TALK series for this February. This message is all about how super important gender roles are to God and in His Word. God created us in specific gender with specific roles to each gender. God did this because He was reflecting Himself (different roles within the Trinity), and He’s reflecting His Gospel. Through this message, we want to turn-out biblical BEASTS (dudes) and BEAUTIES (ladies) who want to glorify Jesus through their gender. Godly guys need to be MENNN, and godly girls need to be LAIDIESSS. So feel free to check out anything on here, and use it for your ministry or life.

This is the last sermon in our “Best Book Ever” series. Booooo! So I wanted to conclude it as powerfully as possible…and the INFALLIBILITY of Scripture was perfect for that! Infallibility does not mean “no fallacies” or no mistakes. Rather, infallibility means that Scripture will not fail to accomplish what God promises it will accomplish. So this is talking about the power of Scripture, the ability of God’s Word to change our lives, etc. This is huge because the ultimate purpose of Scripture is not merely to be read or preached, but we read and preach the Scriptures so that we are equipped to live our lives powerfully with, through, and for Jesus. So here you go, one last sermon on Best Book Ever, all about the Infallibility of Scripture in the lives of students.

We had such a crunk night for this message! We played one of our favorite games “Alabama Snowball Fight”, sang some of our favorite songs, and the students really seemed to get the importance of the Sufficiency of Scripture. If you’re someone that needs help in teaching or that needs help in being strengthened in the areas of personal devotions, understanding that Scripture is enough, understanding doctrine, understanding sin, understanding how to correct sin, and understanding how to live in righteousness…then this message is for you!

Last night was a “fall break” night for most of the school’s in our area. I’m so encouraged that we have a student ministry filled with students who still come to worship Jesus and hear from His Word even on nights that many of their friends are gone on vacation or hanging out at home. Satan may want us to take a Wednesday off…but Jesus deserves our worship every Wednesday!

Our goal last night was to train, equip, and prepare our students to defend the INERRANCY (absolute truthfulness) of Scripture now and when the heat gets turned up in college. The Bible is inerrant (without errors) because it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), Jesus said the His Word is Truth (John 17:17), and the Scriptures were written by God (2 Peter 1:20-21). So we at CBSM unashamedly hold to, love, and boldly live the full inerrancy of God’s Word. This sermon explains what inerrancy is, explores the Word for where God claims inerrancy, and takes a look at problem passages where people claim mistakes in the Bible. Check it out! Dang…last night…wow! It was one of those nights where we didn’t exactly put our best foot forward when it came to media or creativity. Many things were going wrong (we blame the demons) before the service. But once the service hit…God totally took control! The Holy Spirit moved us out of the way. Jesus said, “Step aside.” And God just did His thing…and you know how He do! We opened up with the See You At the Pole 2010 promo video. Then we had our students pray for about 15 minutes for their schools, for this country, and for the nations. We always pray so that Jesus will be exalted, trusted, believed in, worshiped, and glorified in all things, in all people, and in all places. We then experience just some crazy Christ-centered worship with our band. God totally took over the sermon and spoke to the students like never before. And we ended the night with some hard-hitting worship songs about the greatness of our God in Christ, and how we need to live this life from the inside-out! I wish you could have heard the conversations from all of the students who came up just to say what God had been doing in their lives. God is just doing His thing and rolling just how He likes it. We thank Him and praise Him for it! Continue reading

Q&A for Man On The Island: Is Moti IMPORTANT to Us?

Free mp3 file of Q&A for youth pastors, small group leaders, etc:
5 – MOTI – Q&A (mp3)
Here at CBSM, we love to do Questions and Answers with our students. We believe Q&A’s encourage them to think through the doctrines and come up with great questions surrounding the issues. As well, it shows them how to answer biblically (from God’s Word) when they have a question or when other’s ask them. It also teaches them that its okay to not know something, and to search for the answer from Scripture. So feel free to either listen to the mp3, or read the document below on the tough questions our small groups came up with surrounding MOTI: Man on the Island.

CBSM sermon intro video to “Best Book Ever” series

CBSM Sermon Video: “Is Moti IMPORTANT to God?” Romans 10:14-17

This is our last sermon through the MOTI (Man On The Island) series. We go back over if Moti really is IGNORANT of God’s existence, if Moti really is INNOCENT of sin, and if Moti really is IMPORTANT to God and to us. We really laid our cards on the table with this one…answering if Moti dies tomorrow…would he go to heaven or hell? Some people may not like our answer…but that doesn’t matter! What matters is…how God answers this question in Scripture! In this message, we had 255 teenagers present since it was our BACK 2 SCHOOL BASH event night. At least 7 teenagers received Christ and were saved on this night. It was just simply a night that God used to rock our lives and our student ministry. I want to thank our students for doing such an amazing job of being missionaries and bringing their friends. I want to thank all of our adult leaders who serve so well and make everything run smoothly. I want to thank Dr. Russell Moore for this amazing sermon that he preached that we could piggy-back off of and turn into a student ministry series. And lastly I want to thank JESUS for coming to us, revealing Himself to us through the preaching of the gospel of others, that we could be saved and enjoy eternity with Him!
