This is the last sermon in our “Best Book Ever” series. Booooo! So I wanted to conclude it as powerfully as possible…and the INFALLIBILITY of Scripture was perfect for that! Infallibility does not mean “no fallacies” or no mistakes. Rather, infallibility means that Scripture will not fail to accomplish what God promises it will accomplish. So this is talking about the power of Scripture, the ability of God’s Word to change our lives, etc. This is huge because the ultimate purpose of Scripture is not merely to be read or preached, but we read and preach the Scriptures so that we are equipped to live our lives powerfully with, through, and for Jesus. So here you go, one last sermon on Best Book Ever, all about the Infallibility of Scripture in the lives of students.

Last night was a “fall break” night for most of the school’s in our area. I’m so encouraged that we have a student ministry filled with students who still come to worship Jesus and hear from His Word even on nights that many of their friends are gone on vacation or hanging out at home. Satan may want us to take a Wednesday off…but Jesus deserves our worship every Wednesday!

Our goal last night was to train, equip, and prepare our students to defend the INERRANCY (absolute truthfulness) of Scripture now and when the heat gets turned up in college. The Bible is inerrant (without errors) because it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), Jesus said the His Word is Truth (John 17:17), and the Scriptures were written by God (2 Peter 1:20-21). So we at CBSM unashamedly hold to, love, and boldly live the full inerrancy of God’s Word. This sermon explains what inerrancy is, explores the Word for where God claims inerrancy, and takes a look at problem passages where people claim mistakes in the Bible. Check it out! We cranked up another new series last night “BEST BOOK EVER.” Since we just finished up our “Man On The Island” series that journeyed us through the “Doctrine of General Revelation”, “Best Book Ever” is our trip through the “Doctrine of Special Revelation and Scripture.” And that my friend, is an overdose of quotation marks! Through this series, my prayer is that CBSM will be convinced, passionate, convicted, and strengthened in the Christ-centeredness, Authority, Inspiration, Inerrancy, Infallibility, and Sufficiency of Scripture. And not that they would just understand these things theologically, but that they would also live them daily!

Last night was another BEST NIGHT YET! Two words that come to mind to describe last night are: EXCITEMENT and GENUINE. All night long the students were truly pumped up to praise Jesus, and the worship just seemed to be more genuine than ever. So the sermon was on “Is Moti INNOCENT of sin?” This is one of the most prominent answers I get from teenagers who think that Moti goes to heaven when he dies (Moti is a man on a deserted island who has never had contact with any other human being, missionary, etc.). So, does God reveal to Moti the existence of sin? Does Moti know that he is a sinner? How in the world does Moti sin? Is he cussing out the island koala bears? Is he drawing dirty little pictures in the sand? Is he torturing any bird he can get his hands on? This is an important message to understand how the entire world is cursed with sin, and how the only cure for sin is the gospel of Jesus!
