BASIC is our mission trip to Detroit for students going into 9th grade and up. It is an insane and intense week of training in evangelism and missions including classes, missions opportunities, ministering to Muslims, and worshipping with many other student ministries. It is a week that God has been using to change the lives of students for years now at CBSM.

ELHS Graduate Baccalaureate Sermon and Service
I’m so thankful for the opportunity from ELHS to speak their Graduate Baccalaureate service this year. I was so impressed with the attention these graduates, their friends, their families, and their fans gave the Word of God being preached. Here’s what I believe God gave me to preach to a huge class of 2010 graduates. As they were going into the military, into college, and into the workforce…I wanted to make sure they knew their God (and Gospel through Jesus), their Gift (how God has gifted them to serve Him), and their Group (the kind of church God is calling them to be a part of).

Last week was one of the biggest worship services we’ve ever had, yall. God used you to bring in right at 137 teenagers. That’s ridiculous! The summer is definitely a time of vacations and people being away, so we’ll have tons of extra open seats. Keep inviting your friends to come and worship Jesus with us. We’re working on a RIDICULOUS schedule through the month of August…so hang on tight and enjoy the CBSM ride!

Our churches today can be all outta whack with emotion. Some churches are suped up on some crazy emotion. Other churches are just a boring bunch of nerds who don’t ever show emotion in worship. Then there are Christians out there walking around emotionless for Jesus like a bunch of androids, and others are like emotional roller-coasters who have no balancing faith to their feelings. What does God’s Word say about our emotions when it comes to worship? Check it out. This study got good fast!

Whoa…we just had one of the BEST student ministry trips that I have ever been on. The CBSM Beach Camp was a total success. We had almost 50 students go this year. I would love to see that double next year. I want all yall to go! Also, we had a HUGE SS Small Group yesterday with our new 7th graders coming in. Great to have yall with us! Let’s pack it out this Wednesday to give Jesus all the worship and glory He deserves!
